The Classic Burger


  • 500-600g minced beef
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp flat leaf parsley, roughly crushed
  • 1 tbsp sage
  • 1 sprig thyme
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 medium red onion, finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 burger buns

    Finely chop all the herbs. Mix all the ingredients together except the olive oil and the buns. Cover with clingfilm and refrigerate overnight if you can, or for at least 4 hours.

    Place the BBQ Grid on the BBQ and pre-heat for 2-3 minutes. Meanwhile shape the meat mixture into four burger patties.

    Brush one side of the patties with oil. Place the oiled side down onto the grid and cook over medium heat for 3-5 minutes.

    Brush with more olive oil before turning over. Cook for another 3-5 minutes. Load up on the buns with your favourite toppings. Tip: pickles and burger sauce are ours!
