Sausage and Chilli Pasta


  • 150g penne pasta
  • 2 good quality pork sausages
  • Half a small red onion, peeled and finely diced
  • Half a red chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 250g passata
  • Half tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper
  • Rapeseed oil
  • 0 : 20

    Using the pot stand bring a pan of water to the boil then add your pasta, cover and cook as per the packet instructions. Drain and set aside, keeping covered to stay warm.

    Add the Paella, Chef or a large frying pan and add a drizzle of oil. Squeeze the sausages out of their skin, and use a wooden spoon to break up as it cooks. Cook over a low-medium heat for 3-4 minutes until starting to turn golden brown. Add the onion and cook for a few minutes more until soft and caramelised.

    Add the chilli and garlic, give it a good mix then add in the passata, sugar and season well with salt and pepper.

    Cook over a medium heat for 7-8 minutes before adding the pasta to the pan and stir through to combine everything together before dividing between two bowls.
